THE CREW CAMPAIGN

@STYLEDBYTATI - ART FORM: WARDROBE STYLIST

1. The inspiration behind my concept WAS. . .

The inspiration behind my concept was the idea and adaptation of inserting our current health practices throughout daily life, even post-quarantine/COVID-19. For example, for most, it'll be hard to want to transition back to "normal" practices due to the fear of another outbreak and something else spreading. This plays on the idea that we, have become accustomed to these practices such as wearing a mask or gloves when doing daily tasks. Also, I wanted to feel a little glamorous, for once, throughout this whole quarantine time period. I was furloughed and I've been out of work for a couple months now. Without the constant need to get out of bed or to leave the house, I've lost interest in doing simple things like putting on a cute outfit or slabbing on some makeup. It's understandably hard to be motivated right now but I wanted this to show how there are ways to get out of the funk, no matter how much the world is falling apart around us.

2. The sweater to me meanS. . .

The sweater to me means so much more than I'm able to put into words. You know, as a stylist, I'm 100% behind the scenes. A lot of the time, stylists and other members of the industry go unnoticed or unrecognized when the true work and effort is all behind the photos and videos we end up putting out for the world to see. Truly the "grunt" work of my career is the base of my ability to show out at a photoshoot. The research, the pulling, the constant communication and attention to detail is the foundation of the final edits that are what you see after the fact. Without all of those hours of hard ass work, there are no photos, no entertainment and no beauty. I appreciate what I do because all that hard work is what I'm obsessed with when styling and what makes me push even harder for the next project and so on.

3.  Creating with limited resources has shown me that. . .

Creating with limited resources has shown me that there really are no limits. At the end of the day, I could have a full set, crew and all-day production and create something amazing, for sure. What I've realized over time is that you can also 100% do the best damn project you've ever done with the blanket off your bed, clipped to the doors in your room, with nothing but self-timer and a wine glass! The best resource you have is yourself and if you believe that, then you'll be able to see your true potential without the idea that you need all the bells and whistles to accomplish something great.
